The Anthony Luce Memorial Scholarship Fund

The Texas Section has an urgent request for your consideration. ASCE Dallas Branch President and BGE, Inc. Project Manager Anthony Luce, P.E. passed away on Wednesday, June 5th after an extended battle with an illness. He is survived by his wife, Sarah and their two children – Hannah (12) and Noah (10) as well as his brother, Andrew, a BGE Project Manager, and other family.

Anthony’s passing at the young age of 35 is heartbreaking. The Texas Section would like to offer matching funds in support of a Memorial Scholarship Fund for his children, being organized by the Dallas Branch. We desire to go above and beyond our usual means to help establish funding for his children’s future. Our goal is $5,000. Section President Art Clendenin, P.E. has started by personally pledging $200.

 If you or your Branch can support the Section in meeting this goal, please email Art Clendenin at President@TexASCE.org directly with your pledged amount. If possible, we’d like to notify the Dallas Branch of the total pledged amount by THIS FRIDAY, so that the news can be shared at Anthony’s memorial service this weekend. The Dallas Branch Board of Directors is convening today to vote on the donation of Branch funds. The donation of Section funds will be discussed during the upcoming Executive Committee meeting in July.

  • For those of you who didn’t have the pleasure of meeting Anthony, the Dallas Branch released a brief obituary last week. In addition to his service as Branch President, he was named 2019 ASCE Dallas Branch Young Engineer of the Year in February. https://dallasasce.org/articles.php?id=1073

  • All pledged donations should be mailed to the ASCE Texas Section office at 1524 S. IH-35, Suite 180, Austin, TX 78745 and made payable to “ASCE Texas Section”. Please note “Anthony Luce Memorial Scholarship Fund” in the memo field. The Section will send the sum of all donations to the Dallas Branch or directly to the Scholarship Fund.

  • The Texas Section will share details of the Memorial Scholarship Fund with all Section members as soon as they are available.
