At
our March luncheon, the Austin Branch recognized this year’s
scholarship recipients. The Austin Branch awarded two $2,000
scholarships, and two $1,000 scholarships for a total of $6,000
awarded. Below is a brief writeup on the accomplishments of the
winning students:
Stacy

Stacy is junior civil engineering student who is also the
current president of UT ASCE. She also has held the Outreach
Officer position and participated in the concrete canoe
competition, called companies for sponsorships, helped write the
annual report, and was just heavily involved in many chapter
activities. She has a fantastic gpa and has been recognized by
a number of other groups for her outstanding achievements. We
are proud to give Stacy a $2,000 scholarship to reward her
excellence and commitment to ASCE.
Sonia Trujillo:
Sonia is a senior civil engineering student with an emphasis in
geotechnical engineering. She was a concrete canoe team member
in 2008 and is currently the Outreach Director as well as the
Concrete Canoe Conference Chair for UT ASCE. In addition to her
involvement, she has maintained a solid gpa and found time to
volunteer to be a high school tutor. The Austin Branch would
like to thank Sonia for her commitment to ASCE and recognize her
achievements by awarding her a $2,000 scholarship.

maintained a great gpa. He has been an active member in ASCE
