YMF & UT Student Chapter Announcements and Updates

The purpose of Younger Member Forums (YMF) within ASCE is to direct ASCE's mission for engineers age 35 and younger. YMF offers opportunities to network with peers, learn more about the profession, provide leadership experience and encourage the full professional development of Younger Members. We invite you to join us for the following upcoming events and activities.

ASCE YMF November Happy Hour: Posse East with UT ASCE Student Chapter on November 21st

Please join the YMF for our monthly event, a happy hour at Posse East, for an evening of socializing and networking with young engineers and UT Students. This will be the first of many reoccurring happy hours, planned towards the end of each semester, to encourage networking with a focus on graduating seniors. All ASCE YMF, Austin Branch, and UT members are invited. We've also invited all Mentors and Mentees participating in this semester's Engineering Professionalism course (CE 171P).

UT Update: Concrete Canoe and Steel Bridge Competition

Concrete Canoe, beloved competition amongst all civil engineers, is a result of the generosity of the support UT receives. The quality of materials purchased and, subsequently, the final product, directly correlates to the financial support received, which in turn affects UT's performance at competition. UT's Concrete Canoe Team has been working extremely hard this year in order to restore the University of Texas at Austin to its winning tradition, and they would greatly appreciate any support you are able to provide. Please consider donating to the UT-ASCE Concrete Canoe Team and investing in the success of future engineers!

The Steel Bridge Competition is the quintessential engineering problem and the goal as students at The University of Texas at Austin is to best display their skills on the national stage. Through generous support from alumni and network of engineers, students will be able to utilize the best construction materials, software, and tools to allow for substantial project-based learning and ensure continued success of UT-ASCE's team. We hope that you will consider donating to the UT-ASCE Steel Bridge Team this year!
